Our founder, Cynthia Husted, PhD, has a 40+ year interest in better understanding the concepts of universal energy, as expressed since antiquity in words such as chi, ki, prana, rLung (loong), aether, and more recently zero-point energy. She deliberately studied doctoral physics with a focus on nuclear magnetism as she thought this would be the best scientific link to this unseen or subtle energy. Her intention was to get her doctorate to apply this in an unconventional way to study subtle energy, but she did not anticipate that she would enjoy research so much and continued in the university with post-doctoral research at UCSF and then establishing her own lab at UCSB. She thought she had arrived at her dream job until receiving a near-lethal black widow spider bite and fell through the cracks of contemporary biomedicine. The integration of Tibetan and functional medicine along with energy medicine got her back on course and resulted in the launch of this non-profit that circles back to her original intentions, with much more breadth and depth along the way.
We are interested in exploring energy-based approaches to healing neurological disorders and promoting longevity by targeting mitochondria and other cellular functions. This area of medicine utilizing frequencies at varying ranges is referred to as medical physics. Diagnosis includes methods such as MRI, x-rays, and ultrasound whereas treatments include radiation oncology, non-ionizing medical radiation physics, and nuclear medicine physics though we seek to explore other wavelengths and frequencies of the electromagnetic spectrum for optimizing function and longevity in a gentle way with minimal side effects.
The majority of treatments in modern biomedicine are biochemical based with approaches in pharmaceuticals and supplements whereas we seek to utilize frequencies and vibrations to treat our energetic beings. We are taking a whole person view with interventions and not just studying the modalities. We are one whole system of various energies that we seek to explore and better understand.
